Blog Tour & Review: Candy Ever After by Jo Raven

Title: Candy Ever After
Author: Jo Raven
Genre: Menage Romance

“Candy, why is your bed so big?”
“… to fit my two boyfriends when we snuggle together at night.”
Only that’s my father asking, staring at the bed in question.
So yeah. Unruly Jethro and cocky Joel are now officially my boyfriends. My Candy Boys. I moved in with them, and I expected things to be tense, awkward. I was wrong. This feels so right, and well, hot. These boys are so hot.
But with college starting, Jethro returning to work at the bookshop, and Joel starting his own business, everything’s shifting. Not to forget the fact that Joel still hasn’t confronted his parents about our relationship, that Jethro is still recovering from his dad’s brutal attack, and that I feel insecure, well…
Wait a sec. Insecure? Come on, Candy. That’s BS. These boys love you.
Yeah, I know. The boys and me, we’re solid. However, doubt still lingers. I mean, Joel’s parents hate each other. Jethro’s dad killed his mom, for chrissakes—and my mom has acquired a sudden interest in sex toys and escort services.
So I wonder if true love really exists. Love that doesn’t fade over time. You know, the kind that withstands nightmares and bad jokes, unwashed dishes in the sink and lack of lube.
Yeah, that happened.
These boys own me. They’re sweet, sexy and caring—but will they break my heart, or is this our happily ever after?

From the very beginning this author had me smirking or grinning, then chuckling and at times laughing out loud! All of these things are a definite plus for me! If I’m reading a romantic comedy I like to enjoy a chuckle or too with the characters and you definitely do that with this story. For e.g. when Jet says this about his boss. “She’s pretty for a thirty-year-old with the personality of a sumo wrestler and the temper of a mad Chihuahua.” Great one liners!

This is the book that finishes Candy, Jet and Joel’s story. All have committed to a relationship together however there are some demons that interfere.

This is a quick and easy to read story that leaves wanting to read more from this talented author. There is more than humour in this book though. Some much deeper issues arise like personal insecurities that are easy to identify with because they are very real, other people’s perceptions and prejudices as well. All are handled smoothly but not in a fairytale manner.

I look forward to reading more from Jo Raven.

Candy Ever After was a perfect ending to this story. All 3 parties finally found their internal peace along with their relationship. They all came to terms with their sexualities along with explaining to their families who and what type of relationship they truly have with each other.
This was a great read from start to finish. I loved the silliness and chemistry between them all.

New Release & Review: Call Me Daddy by Jade West

Title: Call Me Daddy
Author : Jade West
Genre: Erotic, Romance,
Cover: RBA Designs

I want him to be my first.
I want him to be the one.
I want him to be my everything.
I didn’t expect to spend my eighteenth birthday stranded in the pouring rain with no way to make it home.
I didn’t expect to be rescued from the worst night of my life by the most amazing man I’d ever seen.
His name is Nick, and he says he wants to take care of me, says he’ll look after me, says I don’t need to be alone anymore.
He treats me like a princess, like the fragile little girl he saved from the cold.
But I like him… I like him like that.
I’ve never liked anyone like that before…
And it’s weird, this thing we have…
It’s like I can’t decide how we’re supposed to be… what we are…
Until he says the words…
Call me Daddy.
If Daddy smut is your kink, dive right in. If not, this definitely, definitely is not the book for you.
You have been warned.
I don’t issue this warning lightly. :D

Call Me Daddy by Jade West was her typical dirty, fetish story which I LOVED!
Laine is a newly 18 yr old who has pretty much raised herself but is very young and naive. Nick is a much older man who has lost so much and just wants to find that one special person who he can mark off all his fetish boxes with. Little did he know when he ran into Laine that she would be that person to mark all his boxes of wants. And Laine finally finds someone she is wanting to spend time with and give herself to.
This book was more than just sex and kink. It had a lovely storyline behind it and I hope I get to read more from this awesome author.

Call Me Daddy grabbed me right from the beginning and held me until the very last page. Jade West has a way of writing erotic/taboo books that get under your skin, make you hot, and in a serious need of a cold shower. Call Me Daddy is no exception.

Laine grew up with no one to truly love her. Her only friend is no real friend and takes advantage of poor naive Laine. An 18th birthday that goes down in the history books as one of the worst days of her life, Laine doesn’t think it can get any worse until she is fighting off a would be attacker. Luckily for her, Nick is in the neighborhood and rescues the poor waif of a girl.

Things take a unexpected and interesting turn for Laine when she realizes that Nick is just the Daddy that she has always wanted in her life. Protective, caring, and very, very, loving. Nick loves being called Daddy and knows that it may just be crossing a line, but he can’t help but want to feed the beast inside. Little Laine doesn’t realize what she is doing to Nick. Or does she?

Hot, sexy, and extremely naughty, Call Me Daddy gives us a great story of two people who find each other when they most needed the other. This book teeters on a fine line of a fetish niche that many may not find approving. However, Jade West writes in such a manner that the book is tasteful with a great story line with great characters. Jade West has been a favorite of mine from the very first book I picked up and the books just keep getting better and better. Loved it.

Jade has increasingly less to say about herself as time goes on, other than the fact she is an author, but she’s happy with this fact.

Living in imaginary realities and having a legitimate excuse for it is really all she’s ever wanted.
Jade is as dirty as you’d expect from her novels, and talking smut makes her smile.
She lives in the Herefordshire countryside with a couple of hounds and a guy who’s able to cope with her inherent weirdness.

She has a red living room, decorated with far more zebra print than most people could bear and fights a constant battle with her addiction to Coca-Cola.

Built, tempting, and deadly.

When Axel returns home, he’s shrouded in darkness, unable to forget the blood that stains his hands or the screams that haunt his dreams. When a dark force from his past offers him a job, he wonders if taking it will be his salvation or his downfall.

Hard Core is the third book in the Hard as Nails series and is a great addition. In this book we get to meet Axel, who is fresh out of the service. He comes home and reunites with his childhood friends. The happiness of his homecoming is short lived when the local crime lord, King, hits him up for a job on this first night home. However, King knows right where to hit, and asks Axel to check in on one of his strip clubs to make sure the women are not man handled. If there is one thing that Axel doesn’t stand for, it is the mistreatment of women. Knowing he can’t say no, Axel decides to see what the situation is at the club and to make sure that the women are treated right. He wasn’t expecting to find an Angel in the den of sin.

Alyssa is an aspiring actress who is making ends meet by waiting tables at a strip club. She is only doing this to earn enough money to pay the medical bills for her father’s cancer treatments. He hates her job, but understands that she wouldn’t get the money anywhere else. The only problem is the owner, King, has been paying her stripper wages and expects Alyssa to step up to become a stripper sooner rather than later. A hot and dangerous stranger saves Alyssa from two patrons of the club and things begin to heat up for Alyssa. She doesn’t want to be in it for the emotional connection, but Axel isn’t giving up the chase.

As with the prior Hard as Nails books, we are gifted with a hot and yummy alpha. Axel is a great character that is strong, sexy, protective, and dominant. Alyssa is a great character to compliment Axel. She is strong, sassy, caring, and very passionate. She doesn’t lay down and take it, she will put up a fight and speak her mind. I enjoyed the dialogue between the characters and the back and forth banter that they had was fun to read. Another good and sexy read by Hope Conrad.

This third book in the series continues the story of orphaned boys who became friends and remain friends in adulthood.
Axel is fresh out of the military and a little lost until he helps ‘King’ out and meets his Angel, Alyssa. Alyssa works as a waitress in a strip club to helping pay for her father’s cancer treatments even though she’s an aspiring actress.
When the hot, muscled Axel and beautiful Alyssa start to get to know each other they find they have more than a combustible chemistry.
This is actually a sweet story, fast paced and makes you feel great.

Closer is the first book that I have read by Mary Elizabeth. I truly enjoyed this book.

Teller Reddy is a sinfully good-looking, tattooed, bad boy. He is living the dream his father wants, just not his dream. Ready to walk away from it all, he meets Ella and everything changes. Her first day of college changes both of their lives.

Years of friendship and a tragic accident brings Teller and Ella’s relationship to a whole new level. After years of avoiding the truth of their relationship and suffering the toxic and explosive episodes, Teller and Ella come to realize that there has always been one answer in front of their faces. But one lie or omission of truth may just turn their entire world upside down.

Closer is a good read. I truly enjoy Teller and Ella as characters. They are both broken, yet fit together to make each other whole. The push and pull that they endure is enough to drive anyone crazy, yet it just adds to their whole dynamic. It’s always the crazies that draw you in. I cannot wait for the next book.

New Release & Review: Heartbeats by Sarah O’Rourke

heartbeats-banner-release-day-blitz heartbeats-ebook-cover button-synopsis

He’ll fight her every step of the way. She’s fighting because there is no other way to keep him alive.

Legendary FBI profiler Matteo Cassano gives the orders. He is not accustomed at all to following them. The control-freak legend of the FBI could have any woman he wants, and often had in the past. But when he meets the amazing, younger Brenna Langley, he might have finally found the woman that could change his entire life.

Brenna Langley is professional, focused, and determined to move ahead in her career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Having tried a few failed relationships, she had decided that romance would not be in the cards for her. That was, until Matt Cassano enters her orbit and she finds herself on a secret, covert mission to save the great man from himself.

But what happens when these two determined personalities clash and the change is more than either one of them bargained for? And when Matt’s health becomes an issue, can the fledgling relationship survive?

STANDALONE. HEA. Romantica erotica.

goodreads button-excerpt heartbeats-teaser-own-body

A mere ten minutes later, Bren found herself firmly wrapped in those arms of his, straddling his waist as he made himself quite at home on her leather sofa. Dropping another quick kiss to his waiting lips, she felt his hands slide under her blouse, his fingers finding the shallow indentation of her lower spine and stroking her sensitive skin gently.

Moaning as Matteo’s arms tightened around her waist and pulled her closer, Bren’s eyelids fluttered as she arched against his warm touch. Biting her lip, she felt Matt’s devious lips smiling devilishly against her neck as his magic fingers skated up her toned sides, stopping only when he reached the satiny fabric barrier of her bra. “Oh, God,” she gasped as he leaned forward, dropping a slow, wet kiss to the center of her neck, her pulse pounding against his tongue. Tracing a slow, agonizing pattern up her neck and ending at her ear, Bren shivered as he slowly drew her earlobe between his lips.

Matteo grinned as he felt a shudder claim her aroused body, and he couldn’t resist pushing her just a little bit farther. “So tell me, Brenna,” he whispered sensually against her flesh, his warm breath fanning her neck and pulling another quiver from her small body. “Are you still thinking about keeping me out of your bed tonight, love?”

Sinking her teeth into her lower lip as she shifted in the cradle of his lap, Bren’s hand fisted in Matteo’s shirt, her nails digging into the soft material as her other hand desperately tried to unfasten the infuriating buttons she just knew had to be there somewhere. “Now, Matt,” she said breathlessly, “I think we’ve proven that this couch is more than sufficient for our needs, don’t you?”

“Which needs would we be talking about, babe?” Matteo asked on a growl as he dropped his hand back to her waist. Trailing one blunt fingertip up her side until he cupped the warm weight of her satin-covered breast in his hand, he rubbed his lips against the thrumming pulse in her neck as he murmured, “Maybe this need right here?”

I have read Sarah O’Rourke before and I have always enjoyed how she was able to bring a story alive. She did the same thing with this book. Hearbeats was about 2 FBI agents, neither wanting to let love in and neither wanting to move on from their pasts. Matteo and Brenna are 2 headstrong, determined people who come across each other and lust is instantly felt. They fall into a routine that includes one another and when an obstacle comes into play they have to wonder if their relationship will stay strong.

This was a slower paced read for me. It did keep my attention, and it did have enough personality that I enjoyed it.

Sarah O’Rourke is the alter ego of two best friends who bonded over their passion for romantic fiction and erotica. Born and raised in the southern United States, one lives near Louisville, Kentucky, while the other resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Formerly an accountant and a chemist, they are now overworked, stay-at-home moms who adore their children, their husbands…and writing about love in every way possible.

Inspired by their dog-eared copies of Gone with the Wind and their almost warped DVDs of Steel Magnolias, they love to write wildly intense romantic/erotica stories that have multiple characters, but they focus on one couple that will ALWAYS have a happy ending…eventually!
