A Beautiful Nightmare is my first book by Shana Vanterpool. It was very hard for me to get into this book. Kinley Hashawaye is a psychologist who is treating Dash McKing. He is the son of the Chicago crime boss. A lapse in judgment sends these two into a downward spiral. Dash is in love with Kinley and must have her. He sets into motion a plan to take and keep Kinley. However, Kinley already belongs to someone else. Someone that has ties to the crime family. Someone that they least expected to be as powerful as he is. Dash takes Kinley into his tower to make her his Queen. Kinley wakes in her beautiful nightmare, but must make a life changing decision if she is going to love the man that took her or the man that she really never knew.

I had a really hard time with this book. I got the dynamic between Dash and Kinley. I got the drama and mystery around the plot of the book. What I had difficulty with was the inner struggle that Kinley had throughout the book and some of the scenes with Dash. There was a lot of back and forth that did not make sense to me. However, overall the drama and mystery of the book was very intriguing. I did like the struggle that Kinley had with Dash regarding her feelings. A Beautiful Nightmare was an entertaining read overall.

When I walk into a book store I feel at home. When I smell the pages of a brand new book things make sense. When I read I am who I always wanted to be. I read to escape and I write so others can as well. My family, my actress dog Bella, coffee, and a steamy love story are a few of my most precious things. Keep up to date with future releases:
