Lydia is a young interior designer who has been burnt in the personal relationship aspect of her life. She finds it hard to trust any male enough to go out with them.
Marcus is a twenty-seven-year-old policeman in the same town and fights to get Lydia to give them a chance. His cheesy pick-up lines, determination and resilience are all needed in his quest to conquer Lydia’s heart.
The characters are easy to relate to and more than once I felt I could have either clapped them on the back or for some slapped them on the back-not so gently!
I enjoyed this easy to read, fast-paced story. It has some serious issues like adultery and parental relationships but also has a quirky tough of humour which makes the book so light and I always enjoy humour in the stories I read.

I want to yell. I want to cuss. I want to hit and lash out at them in the most violent of ways, but I’m too broken. Because in the last few minutes, all of my dreams came crashing down. What I once thought was perfect was all a lie. A repulsive, cut you to your soul kind of lie.
Stalker: Caught ya.
My brows furrow in confusion as I try to figure out what he’s talking about. After several seconds and still no clue, I text him back.
Me: Caught me what?
Stalker: Thinking about me.
With a grin, I respond.
Me: What makes you so sure I was thinking about you?
Stalker: Because I was thinking of you.
