3.5stars
Chrys Fey is a new author to me but I enjoyed her light-hearted suspense story.
This is a short story about two people meeting during Hurricane Sabrina in Florida. The mystery is whether Donovan, the man Beth rescues, is a killer or not!
The characters descriptions become deeper as the story goes on and you can’t help but like them. The situation, the hurricane, is described so clearly you’d think you were there as well.
The reason I gave it 3 1/2 stars is because I think more could written for the reader to really ‘bite into’, there was room to expand.
All in all an enjoyable story.

An Internal Affairs Investigator was murdered and his brother, Donovan Goldwyn, was framed. Now Donovan is desperate to prove his innocence. And the one person who can do that is the woman who saved him from a deadly hurricane—Beth Kennedy. From the moment their fates intertwined, passion consumed him. He wants her in his arms. More, he wants her by his side in his darkest moments.

Beth Kennedy may not know everything about Donovan, but she can’t deny what she feels for him. It’s her love for him that pushes her to do whatever she has to do to help him get justice, including putting herself in a criminal’s crosshairs.

When a tip reveals the killer’s location, they travel to California, but then an earthquake of catastrophic proportions separates them. As aftershocks roll the land, Beth and Donovan have to endure dangerous conditions while trying to find their way back to one another. Will they reunite and find the killer, or will they lose everything?

4-star

The second book in this series is full of suspense.
The murder of Donevan’s brother is one that he can’t forget and actively seeks to find the other killer. Beth is is side kick and support network through everything.
This is a fast paced, action packed book that is hard to put down. The earthquake scenes are graphic and the reader really gets a clear image, although terrifying as it is written extremely well.
The threats just keep on coming on in this book and at the end there is a twist as well.i am really looking forward to reading book 3.
