I have not read the full series and was not lost so I can confirm that Road to Peace can be read as a standalone. This book focuses on Hatch who is the Sargent of Arms of the Dogs of Fire MC. He had to raise his brothers and sisters. He’s not looking for a relationship at all.

Maisie took care of raising her daughter after her husband passed away. When she meets Hatch, she is not interested in pursuing the attraction to him, but when her and her daughter is threatened she may have to turn to him for help.

Hatch was fierce, smart, loyal but was also sweet and caring. Hatch develops a bond with Maisie’s daughter from the start. Maisie was a good character as well, although she was a little too nice and forgiving. I really liked their journey. There is a great glimpse of the next characters in the series: Maverick and Lily.

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
