Blurb

Ryker Oakley only cared about three things during school —fighting, his band, and getting laid. When he took it upon himself to ‘babysit’ Bryleigh Munroe, he didn’t expect her to be so much trouble, and he sure as shit wasn’t prepared for how fast she would grow on him. Fast-forward to eight years later, his band—Twisted Transistor—is the most successful rock group known to mankind. When his brother’s wedding brings the only girl he ever came close to caring about back into his life, he discovers something he thought they had left behind in the past, had been destroying her daily.Bryleigh Munroe was a popular girl at school, but because her father was a politically powerful man in the San Diego region, the boys either swore away from her or were trying too hard to get with her. She wanted one night. Quick and dirty. No strings. Only she didn’t expect Ryker Oakley to flip the script on her without her even realizing. Eight years later, Bryleigh still battles with the mistakes she made when she was younger. She’s had to deal with things that she shouldn’t have had to, all on her own.

After all this time has their bond remained silent? Can she forgive the torment Ryker inflicted on her? Or will the choices they made all those years ago force them to re-unite.

Wow! This is my first book by Amo Jones and I tell you that I will definitely be reading more. I didn’t realize that Ryker and Bry’s story was part of the Westbeach series, but it didn’t really matter. It was a stand alone. However, after meeting the other characters of the book, I will be going back and re-reading the other Westbeach books in addition to the other series of Amo Jones that have characters that tie into this book.

Ryker is a bad boy in his own right. Tatted up, pierced, and plays in a rock band. Bry is the daughter of a politician, but has a rebellious streak of her own. Ryker is tasked with watching over Bry at a party, but the babysitting job turns into much more. What is supposed to be a one-time gig turns into a whole lot more. An agreement for a no strings, only physical relationship gets sticky when Bry secretly wants more and Ryker turns Alpha possessive. They won’t claim each other and that turns disastrous for their “relationship. Years later, they are back in the same circle and things couldn’t get more complicated, but could they work out their past to build what should have been?

This book was so good. I loved every single character in this book. Ryker and Bry are great characters. Ryker especially is written so well that I could picture him standing in front of me. The dynamic between the two characters was so electric. I felt Ryker’s uncertainty for their relationship along with Bry’s heartbreak. I also loved the dialogue and banter back and forth between all of the characters. It made them more personable and added humor to the book. Loved it from the first to last page.
