Review: Enough (Jericho Brotherhood #1) by Jade Chandler

JadeChandlerEnough: A Dark, Erotic Motorcycle Club Romance

(Jericho Brotherhood #1)

by Jade Chandler

She wanted nothing to do with me. Well, that’s too f*cking bad.

My MC brothers call me Dare for a reason. I never back down from a challenge. And Lila was the sweetest challenge I ever faced.

From the moment she walked into my tattoo shop, she was going to end up in my bed. Tied up, moaning my name and begging for more.

Her past was a nightmare and I couldn’t guarantee her a future. But I could promise her a good time.

I didn’t know what we would turn into, let alone how hard it’d be to stay away after my selfish ass sent her packing.

Problem is, my girl is hot, so the same men I call brothers tried to claim her.

There’s not enough bourbon in the world to help me forget the love we shared. But to get her back, to prove she’s more to me then a quick lay, I’ll have to tell her the secret I’ve been hiding from everyone.

Before she’s gone forever.

Book one of The Jericho Brotherhood

This book is approximately 99,000 words

Enough by Jade Chandler had me thoroughly entranced from the beginning of the book until the very end. The more I read, the more I liked about Dare and Red’s story. The fire and passion written into Red or Lila’s charachter gave her so much more depth than the run of the mill female lead. And Dare, oh so sexy Dare. He is hot and sexy, but a little broken and vulnerable at the same time.

The dynamics between Lila and the supporting characters, such as MJ, Zero, Bear, Jericho, etc. added so much more to the book. It gave way to other offshoots that allowed Rnough to be more than just dirty MC Erotica.

I would have liked to have seen a few more of the smaller stories that were mentioned play out fully. However, that did not take away from the overall goodness of Enough.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from my first Jade Chandler book and although at times things moved a bit slow the ending was fantastic and I could not put it down. I had to know what Dare’s secret was.

Lila Braham is starting over in a new town. She has been abused by nearly every man she has known including her own father. She starts working at the tattoo shop, the Marked Man which is run by the biker gang the Jericho Brotherhood. She works for Dare who is the artist who manages the shop.

Dare is a hot and sexy biker who wants more from Lila, but is willing to wait till she is ready. They agree that neither is looking for a relationship and they will be able to walk away with no hard feelings when things in the bedroom have run their course.

Of course, things are never that simple. Once they begin to play, things heat up fast, but they both have dark pasts that haunt them and prevent them from becoming more.

There are so many things that I didn’t expect. Dare’s secret was shocking for sure! A lot was going on in the story and the transitions were not the smoothest, but I stayed up to find out what happened when her sister Melody called her for help. That was around 70% and from that point I could not put it down. I didn’t quite understand what Jericho did in the end, but overall I loved the ending and it nearly brought out the ugly cry.

REVIEW STARS – 4.5 stars

This is a debut novel by author Jade Chandler and wow, is all I can say!

The Jericho Brotherhood is an MC that has a lot of legitimate business (and probably a few that are not so legal). One of them is the Marked Man, a tattoo shop that’s run by Dare.

Lila is a woman who is used to cutting and running when life gets to be too much, which is what finds her at the Marked Man as their new office manager.

The attraction is there from the get-go, but Lila is determined not to follow her old pattern of jumping into bed with the first guy who gives her the time of day.

He has secrets. She is overcoming a lifetime of abuse at the hands of those who claimed to love her.

One of my favorite things about this book was how their relationship developed. He let her know from the beginning that regardless of what they did or didn’t do, it wouldn’t impact her job. He found ways to care for and take care of her, even though he wasn’t a “relationship” kind of man – more a hit it and quit it. I loved seeing how she came alive working there and found herself. I loved how he pushed her envelope, but it never pushed her away. I found myself laughing, crying and a few times, wanted to toss my Kindle at his sheer stupidity!

A great debut novel with some of the things anyone who enjoys an MC read will enjoy – hot alpha guys, even hotter sex, and men and women who find themselves falling in love. I’ve already pre-ordered the next one!

About Jade

From my youngest days, I have attempted to be an author writing stories about cartoon characters, which turned into stories of teens as I became a teen myself, and then romances.

A true-believer in happily ever after, romance has always held the number one place on my book shelf, and now my tablet. I enjoy escaping to new worlds and meeting all kinds of people who live in the imagination of others. Now that I have brought my imaginary world to life, I find I cannot write fast enough to bring those ideas to you.

For me, erotic romance offers a gritty, close intimacy that let’s readers explore dark emotions and taboo desires, although today, I love that more and more diverse definitions of happily ever after are accepted in our world. It is the dark intimacy that draws me to read and now write erotic romance,
