4-star

I was really excited for this book after reading the blurb, but I felt like it fell a little short for my tastes. Don’t get me wrong, there were some parts I really enjoyed and some not so much. I had trouble really connecting with the characters in the beginning which is a must for me when reading a good book. I think part of the reason for not connecting with the characters is that the author really glossed over most of Shannon’s backstory. We get glimpses and flashbacks of how her situation with her abusive ex was, but we really don’t get to see how she progresses and becomes the strong independent woman she is at the beginning of Imperfect.
Cherry Shepard really covers the many heart wrenching struggles that soldiers face in real life. She spins a tail that is filled with heart, loss, and so many different emotions. Your heart will ache for Stone and Shannon and you won’t help but to feel each and every emotion that they are going through.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I am super excited for Keet’s story in Flawed!
